Over the next couple of months Janice
will be working on a new body of precious
jewellery which will be exhibited in a
six woman exhibition Flux & Fire,
to be held at the National Museum in
Trinidad during September and October
2005.At the moment, 'Bamboo Series',
the newest of the existing collections,
which was previewed at her first solo
exhibition is still growing and changing.
Janice's inspiration for this work comes
from the many photos she collected of the
famous bamboo forest in Kyoto, while on a
research visit with the British Crafts
Council to Japan in March 2002. The
series is made up of wearable pieces
along with wall hung work and
incorporates precious metals as well as
wood, lacquer and phographs. In all the
collection is very tranquil and subtle,
each piece being treated as a small work
of art.
We also enjoy producing one-off or
special pieces for exhibition or to
commission such as wedding or commitment
rings and gifts.
